As far as compression I just went with 9:1....Just because thats been the proven choice of many.
Yes the JE have a pretty loud piston slap when cold...Ive been asked if i needed oil when starting the car

got da Eagle H beams here with the 9.0:1 C/R. Proved more than 900 miles. Still running good, As far as piston slap its not that bad when cold. You hear it then you dont after Engine Temps rise.
