Default Pistons...

I'm getting a set of forged CP pistons for my B16 and am wondering if I can use them on my stock rods without any machining?..I don't want to buy rods like most of you do as my motor is only making 250whp and i don't want any more power, plus not having to change bearings again would be a plus. The pistons would jsut be kind of a safegaurd against broken ringlands, as I plan to do an open track day and some endurnace auto-x.

You'll have to machine the small end of the rods to accept wrist pins. IMO just get some rods because this will be the prefect time to do so.

I would honestly spend the extra $300 and just get some eagle rods. if your pulling out the crack anyways to hone, you'd prob wanna get some new bearings and polish up the crank? But if you did wanna use stock rods. Pins are .827" and the CP's are 1.181" so ya. They will need to be bored out a little bit. If it were me. I'd just go buy Eagle rods.

OEM wrist pins are press fit

Aftermarket pistons use a floating wrist pin

I agree with the other replies. just upgrade the rods if you're doing the pistons.
