Your pistons should come with a spec sheet for all that. Id trust the manufacturer before I trusted some guy on the internet. But .003" sounds right, thats what I used for my CPs.

it depends on how much hp you plan on making

Also depends on what material the piston is made out of.
Ive gone as high as .005" on JE's (slightly noisy though) and CP's for the most part use .0035" of piston to wall which is built into the piston.
Call Arias and tell them how much boost and rpm you plan on running and they will recommend the proper cylinder to wall spec for you.
Hope this helps.

Wiseco I believe recommends .0029 clearance, Je .003 sounds ok. I have seen rediculous piston to wall clearance around .008-.0012 on a methanol motor that worked good. So I mean it all depends on the power level, and what kind of life this thing is suppose to have.

depends on the piston, the silicone content theirin, and desired whp levels.

Check with your piston manufacture.

Most low-silicone forged aftermarket pistons like 0.003" to 0.0035" for forced induction applications under moderate whp applications.

This means that the bore diameter of the cylinder is 0.003" larger then the diameter of the piston. Yes, its a tight fit!
