piston to head clearence?
what should i do?
i have a b16a and bought wrong pistons, i got the b18c K541M815 instead, i have installed them and decided to run with those but the head to piston clearance just seems to be 0,03"
because when i put the head on without a gasket and torque the head the engine goes around but i hear that the piston hits the heat just a little bit.
then i should just get clearance from the gasket .
should i get a thicker headgasket or shave of some from the piston?
i know i gonna get a rely low comp but i think its gonna be alright with a god tuner

.035" piston to head clearance...
stock headgasket is like .026 compressed... you can buy custom thickness headgaskets from Cometic, some are special order. if you need one i would hit up Mike @ LSDMotorsports.com thats who helped me out with mine

I would use the proper pistons but seeing as you are from a far away land, that is easier said than done.
Do you have any idea what the compression ratio is going to be with this combination?

yea it is not so near
i have tried 3 different cr calculators and get between 7,4 and 8,0
i think the best should be to take out the pistons and and mill them down so they don't stick out of the cylinder and use stock headgasket
they are out of the hole by 0,25mm or 0,009"

yeah i would mill the pistons... i wish i would have done that with my first setup, then i wouldnt have had to swap to a PR3 head...oh well...
he knows he can get a .074 cuz i just ordered it

You guys are all crazy. You would rather pull the piston out and shave the piston, then put a thicker gasket in to achieve proper pistons to head clearance. Buy a .050 thick Cometic gasket and get around .041 piston to head clearance and call it a day.

i use a cometic hi340 0.051 84 mm gasket on my b16 call carl at cv products he might have some there if not he can have you one in a week or two i order two at a time works fine i run pretty loose piston to wall and 1100 rpm rev limit and mine havent taped the head yet
just make shure the gasket dosent overhang the bores when you put the head on

if your still at standard 81mm bore, honda has HGs in stock, vs special order on the rest...

He wont have the proper piston to head clearance with a OEM HG if your already hanging out the block .009. A OEM HG will leave you with roughly .020" piston to head clearance.
Call http://www.raceeng.com. they carry alot of cometic headgaskets in stock and have good service.

i quoted you... im saying i would rather mill the piston so i can run a shelf gasket i can get mon-fri 7:30am-7pm sat 8-5... rather than having to run a custom gasket i need to wait a week for...
i dont have 81mm, i have 81,5
so there is a cometic .05 headgasket? that should be pretty good,
the only thing i can se that should be great with milling the head down is that maybe i could take 1 or 2 layers away from the oem headgasket and get a comp at 8.1

everyone stocks the 0.040 cometic headgasket...
use that, you'll get the 0.030 you need and when you blow the hg you wont have any problems finding a replacement.. hell order 2 while you're at it. no since in taking the motor apart.
