Realistic goal if you ask me.
Hites before i try to help have you decided what fuel management you want to go with? Thast going to play the biggest role in the price IMO. THe 2,500 can be done easily with gauges, but if you plan on running a standalone then it's going to be more expensive.

i am trying to do the same thing...well..relatively the same thing. here are some things that could proboboly help you out. since nobody has really helped me other than close friends and the search function... i'll help you out and let you in on my progress.
--Turbo: saab t3 or chrysler t3..junkyard <150
--Manifold: used drag 175<lovefab 225
--Injectors:dsm 450s: $50 (try dsm sites)
--Bov:1g dsm bov:$50 (again..dsm sites)
--Wastegate: just buy the best...if you are pushing less psi then your wastegate has to work harder (commen misconception) find any of the tial 38 / 35 used or new for around $200 shipped all over the place
--intercooler: a dsm smc (you guessed it) can be had for roughly $40 or so, and johnnyracecar.com sells some cool fmic for only $230-$250 shipped.
--Fuel Pump: walbro in-tank 190...group buy center $90 is the common price on those...
--Charge Pipes: build your own, im guesing 100-200 try jegs.com (their in columbus and do ship)
--Fittings: guessing another $100 here, search for silicone turbo adaptors, not hard to find
--guages : $100-150 for a/f boost and pod if you go used...maybe could get new
--Downpipe: Im guessing $200 or so, i haven't got to that part of my project..hehe
--Oil Lines: i forgot who offers the kit but ask delslow94, he just finished his and i think they were $150 for all of them. now ...rough math... i'll use the prices ive gettin for all of these so far... and my guestimations...
roughly $1500. should be a decent start to turboing your b18. i hope that gets you giddy enough to start purchasing...STAY ON THE LOOKOUT for used parts, they will be your friend.
also whats beautiful about this situation is that it will mainly be funded by selling my n/a parts. Jun header = 800 (sold) skunk2 cams 500-600 (anyone want em?) intake (100) MANY MISC. PARTS (tailights, intakes, spoilers, throttle body, old springs..yadda yadda yadda ) will hopefully be enough to make it worth my while...in a sense i've already paid for the turbo, now just have to find everything.
edit: i forgot management...but im using the uberchip so i guess im cheating..hehe.

i spent about $3500. but you could easily get it all for $2500 if you know where to look. i suggest going to through the forced induction classifieds daily and you may find killer deals. good luck

all the other stuff i can just dig around and find. btw, im a dumbass when it comes to turbos and id really like somthing thats just easy to tune and comes with everything (i get easily frustrated). how would this kit be in satisfying what im looking for:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=616770
i actually have almost $3000 to spend, so taking into account my average profit i should have around $3000 by christmas. compared to some of the other complete kits, is this a decent deal? what faults do you see in this kit? if i were to get it, what else should i get other than dyno time?

i would try to stay away from junkyard kits...this is what im doing. and im in the same budget range as him but im going for the 10.5psi...if i have a b18b, i might as well use that lower compression to my advantage
Turbo--I went for a t3/t4 for $400 shipped(thanks blackanese
)
Manifold: Found a good shape used RevHard mani for $230 shipped
Wastegate: Tial Wastegate w/ .7bar spring $210 shipped (mkteller8
)
BOV: 1g DSM BOV $31 shipped plus i figure another $10 for the flange
Charge Piping: $115 shipped via homemadeturbo.com group by thru Custom Coach.
FMIC: CCA intercooler for $235 shipped (used for less than a week)
Downpipe: I havent really gotten here yet, but 2 180's and a flex pipe and a flange should cover a really nice DP which is about $75-$100 shipped.(welding myself so price will be less)
Exhuast: Im working something out w/ Kteller8...should be in the range of $450 shipped
Boost Gauge: Camp1320...$20 shipped spearco boost gauge. very standard but suits my needs
Fuel Pump: $100(still havent bought but thats the price for one)
Injectors: $70
Oil Lines: ~$100
Misc: $150
That stuff should all add up to under $2500. Im going uberdata and xenocron is helping w/ the chip burning and use of the wideband! gonna go for an hour of dyno tuning at about $150...the only thing i need is a clutch...thats my pain in the ***...$300 for the clutch approx...and install is where i get kicked in the *****...
Hope this info helps you.
