Default Pick a Turbo!

I'm looking for some advice on turbo size. Given the following info, what size turbo would you suggest?

B18C stock internals in a 92 hatch
DSM injectors + SMC
I don't think there is anything else matters, but if it does, let me know.

Goal is 250-270whp, this car is my toy, I have a daily driver. I take the hatch out of the garage about 2 days a week, and one of them is always a track day.

What size turbo would work well in this setup?

If it were me shopping for a turbo, I'd get the smallest one at cheapturbo.com.

60-1 is bigger and designed to flow more and create more hp. Just get a t3/t04e. .63AR turbine and .57 Compressor.

anyone have input about precision turbos? They're a bit more expensive but are supposed to out perform garrett. I'm thinking of getting one for my b18c1

for under 300hp the best size you would need, would be a T3/T04E .54 trim stage 3 with .63 a/r .. for quick spool up, the T3/T04B would be more sufficent the comp housing a a bit smaller which creates faster spool up... remember that the t3/t4 hybrids make power up to about 15-18psi. the compressor max efficiency. now at 7-9psi you would be at about 220-260hp to the wheels...

I've never been able to figure out why the honda guys always say that a t3/t4 is good for about 15-18psi and all the DSM guys run their t3/t4 turbos to 25+ psi efficently. Is it because of the increased redline that hondas have? I've hung around both crowds quite a bit. one crowd will tell you a t3/t4 is out of its effiency range at about 18psi, the other will say it "starts to work" around 18psi and is good for up to 30psi. (yes, i'm comparing turbos with the same A/R) Whats up with that?

How about T3/T04E .50 trim stage 3 with .63 a/r. Should spool fast and is more effecient than the .54 (if I remeber correctly).

I believe the difference in what the DSM guys say vs. the honda guys is that the honda head flows so much better.

If your goal is 250-270 whp, I would go with teh following turbo:

http://www.store.yahoo.com/sr20perfo...ettt3t04e.html

it can easily support the power you want and will have awesome spool up.

Wouldn't a turbo with a .48 A/R turbine housing choke up top? Or not as bad as people make it out to be?

Thanks for the input!

Only if you were planning on trying to push it to it's limit. 250-275 whp is perfect for that size housing. Now, if you were trying to kae 350+ whp out of that thing, I would say that you are smokin' some really good stuff!
