Passing Emissions?
My integra has been boosted for some time now, here in ct they send you a letter every two years when you need to go. My problem is my car is an obdII car... and its running off a chiped obdI ecu. Its my understanding if you "spend" more than 610 bucks in repairs in ct trying to get your car to pass you are excempt. Id rather not have to search around for a mechanic willing to lie about me spending the money etc. mainly cause its asking him to put he job on the line. So my question is, what are you other obdII guys doing? any ideas???
i'd like to know how people in CA with obd-II cars with turbos using hondata, neptune, crome, or any management that requires switching to obd-I do about yearly inspections.
Easy, swap injectors and put the stock ecu back in. Drive the car to the shop and do not boost. If you have a cat on the exhaust you should pass no problem, if not have it hooked up and see what happens. And just remember, at least you are not in NY

Or, Live in a state where there ARE NO emissions whatsoever, and 93-94 Octane pump gas at every station... like in MICHIGAN..
Heh. Even when I was boosted while living in the East Bay, CA, I kept my registration and license in Michigan through the family. Never receieved a letter or call. I could even renew my License via Mail...
Sorry to gloat, just feel lucky is all......

haha its all good we were out emissions for two years, it was nice. And prior to that we could pay them off no problem. now unfortunately its all watched on camera and its really really really hard to pay someone off infact impossible...

i don't know, maybe its just the way that do it in MD but for my OBD II integra, they just plug in a cable under the dash, and hook up the gas cap to something ( don't know what i wasn't paying attention) the car doesn't run at all. that was before i went turbo and went to OBD I, i have to go get tested next summer and i just plan on switching back to stock injectors, stock ecu, and taking out the waste-gate spring.
with obdII they plug you in like all go teg said. So its not just rollin up on the rollers with the sniffer
i wish it was. i guess im gunna try to convert everything back and just not boost.. hopefully it works out.

here in AZ you pass if u r throwing no codes and have a gas cap. Maybe there is a way you could have the an obd2 ecu and a obd1 ecu both in the car. like the engine will use the obd1 and u could somehow have the obd2 wired up some how using resistors too give fake loads and stuff then they would plug into the obd2 ecu scan it and send u on ur way. but that sounds like alot of electrical nightmares trying to get the ecu to believe its connected to a motor and sensors. Lol just a thought
I dont know how states are with visual tests, on my last teg i had plenty of non carb aproved stuff, and i still passed. Infact ive had friends pass without cat's. If youre obdI its a sinch, its the whole hookin the car up and **** to the computer they use there thats screwin me.
