Painting the Bottom End
I was wondering if any-1 here has painted there bottom end?
Im gonna have a motor out of the car and figured i might as well do some painting/powerdercoat before anything is installed
Id like to paint it all black but leave the valve cover the way it is
And actually come to think of it, id probably just painted everything from the bottom of the valve cover and down with tranny all black.....
What kinda paint, what kinda prep, any pictures of any-1 else doing this??
also having my turbo piping powdercoated gloss black and my turbo manifold as well

black attracts heat, not good for a turbo car, gonna be really hot, but it would be interesting to see if you heat soak faster with all black under the hood?

I dont think the color black attracts heat. It absorbs sunlight instead of reflecting like white. I have not heard andthing about a color attracting heat...
But, i wouldnt paint my bottom end black anyways. Makes it harder to find oil leaks, coolant leaks... Just my opinion.

color doesn't attract heat.
In light the color black absorbs all frequencies of light which is energy that ends up as heat.
