p28 vtec solenoid A4 ecu pin-out prob...
A while back I had to add a wire on my dx harness for a z6 vtec and it worked fine until I swapped in this hondata p28. I keep getting a code 21 vtec sol. but the damn thing IS hookup up right.
I have no CEL until I hit 4800, which I believe is the Hondata default vtec switchover.
The wire passed a continuity test from the solenoid to the harness so I know the wire isn't broken. I know I'm getting a positive contact to the ecu pin from the harness because I gave the wire +12 (with the keys out of the ignition) and the solenoid 'clicked' and some lights in the gauge cluster came on. *shrug*
My questions is: is the vtec solenoid ecu pin-out different on different year p28's or something? Why do I get a cel? bad ecu?
My vtec solenoid is wired at A4.
