P06 to P28 conversion as advertised on hondata?
What is involved in this conversion. I need a P06 for my non-vtec civic and I konw that hondata works with p28 and the conversion on their site is $150, I was just wondering what this entails? Or can I just use a p28? Does the hondata programming take care of the vtec for us non-vtec people? Thanks,

probably just socketing and flashing the eeprom with the new program - maybe a few other things, but it seems you could buy a p28 for less than $150

I know I can get a p28 for cheaper than that, but i guess my question should have been, do I need to get a p06, or can I just get the p28 and have it work with my non-vtec engine. Thanks,

The converion from P06->P28 adds some components onto the ECU main board, such as trasnsitors and caps and such to drive the vtec solenoid. If you don't need vtec, there is no point in doing this conversion.

Yea, that's the problem I have... I have sooo many P05/06's laying around but I can't chip the to DOHC VTEC because I don't have the 5050S transistors for VTEC... Everything else is pretty straight forward... Right now I have to ruin other VTEC/AUTO ECU's in order to get the transistors... Anyone else know where you can get them? Peace

Allegro carries 5050 and 5151, at $5 a pop. You can get eight free samples - surf their page for details. Have all your hometown buddies surf their page too... I have about 35 on hand thanks to friends, family and coworkers.
I'm a big fan of raping OBD2 auto ECUs for the 5151's... you get four a pop on the average P2E, which I seem to be covered up with.

Cool, THANKS A LOT!!!!
EDIT: My friend and I pulled apart 3 P2E's today and didn't find even one 5151 in it... Are you sure that's the ECU you get them from??? Thanks again...
