Default overtightened BOV...

well me and my friend where "tuning" his greddy type-s bov on his 99 eclipse. and i think he tightened it a bit to much. cuz i went to loosen it and it got loose right away instead of loosining gradually like normal bolts would when tightened down hard. what happened? can it be fixed? has this happened to any body else?

why do people tighten or loosen that screw anyway? does it make it louder ?

You want to tighten it so it doesn't leak any pressure, but not too tight where you still have compressor surge.

im talking about tightening the screw on top so its harder/softer. as in how it will sound. i tightened it a bit to tight. and wont go all the way back where it was when it was loose, the bolt will go loose but it goes loose right away like this...

|| = screw on top of bov

----
---- = bolt

original "loose position"

----
----

new "loose position"

----
----

shouldnt it go back? can this be fixed? plz help

I don't understand the picture at all.

All I know, is on my Blitz BOV, I went to check the screw, and it came off pretty quick. I just gave it one full turn of tightness.
