Overheating problems
My engine gets really hot. I know it will get really hot, but it seems to get hot very fast. I can do about 6-8 high rev shifts, about 6500-7500 and my check engine light comes on about 10 minutes later. Hondata always gives the engine overheating error and it's showing over 219 degrees ECT.
I'm running 22 psi with a 60-1 on an H22. I have a half size civic radiator which I'm guessing could be causing the overheating issue since the H22 radiator is twice the length.
Is it normal to get hot that fast? Would better oil help keep it cool longer? I'm not looking to race all day but would like to drive more then 20 minutes without it overheating and don't want to warp my engine.

Re: Overheating problems
Are you leaking coolant? Is there white smoke coming out of your exhaust? If there is its probably the headgasket. Does the fan on the radiator work? Did you buy the radiator new or used? Need more info...

Re: Overheating problems
Everything is new, I just finished doing an engine swap and turbo build. There's a new Cometic head gasket. There is no coolant leaking out, it's always the same level when I check it. I have a SPAL fan on the rad and it works. There is a bit of white smoke, but I don't have a cat on.
If I drive it normal without hitting boost, I can drive a long time without it overheating. Also running the heater helps a bit but it's 30 degrees Celcius outside and don't want to do that.

Re: Overheating problems
Have you gone over all the basics?? Try running 90/10 coolant mix, water beeing 90%. Make sure there are NO air bubbles, bleed the **** out of it. If your saying boost is triggering it, then look into that. Is your dump, or d/p that close to the rad? Try head wrap. I'm not sure if boost is the trigger. Have you talked to your tuner, or is it even tuned? I have seen cars in the past overheat due to not having enough timing in em...Just a thought, check with your tuner if you have been over everything..
