Default OVERbore folks

There has been some recent debates on whether the combustion chambers should be matched to the size of an overbored cylinder. Traditional thinking would say, it should be matched(to eleminate any possible hot spots/detonation)- but I've heard people are running fine with the stock sized c/c's and bigger cylinders. What are you guys using and have you had any problems with it? TIA

b18c with 84mm GE bore with stock head runs fine. Alot of people have made big power with out touching the head.

most people that have done B20/V-TEC dont really enlarge their combustion chambers and they run fine with lots of power.

real heated debate about a year ago here: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=156070

Some say, and I agree changing the cumbustion chamber may hurt performance. I have an 84mm bore with 81mm head and it works just fine.

use the size same size headgasket as your cylinder bore size, otherwise your piston may come into contact with your headgasket.

Consensus = Leave the c/c's alone.

Also, what is the relationship of displacement of a B18C bored to 82mm(1842cc) versus a LS block stock bore(1845cc???) I've noticed LS/turbos still push more torque compared to bored VTEC/turbo setups.
How much of a difference is there between an engine with different bores pushing the same boost on essentially the same head/engine management setup?
