overboosting problem...
so I just installed a manual boost controller on my turbo b16 and I tend to over boost when accelerating hard from a low gear (2nd usually). Now, if I'm accelerating gradually from a roll, boost will usually hold steady. Any ideas?
lower the boost, turbo cars tend to boost higher when accelerating hard then drop off to the normal boost setting, simply lower the boost so it doesnt overboost. Another factor could be crap plugs, ignition leads, plug gapping ect ect, what plugs are you using as you could be blowing the spark out...
what mbc do you have? you are describing boost spike (where the boost ramps up initially then levels off). depending on the controller you have you may be able to "tune" it out. any pics of how its setup?
good spark plug choice and i doubt they have anything to do with it.
one thing i would suggest is running the boost controller to a pressure source on the turbo compressor housing if you have one. that should help the response.
is that a name brand mbc or knock-off? i thought that style came with a tee looking peice as well. are you sure its hooked up correctly?

It's an ebay knock off. Unfortunately my Garrett didn't come w/ a tapped source.
I was informed that the T was for hooking up to a BOV and that the install instructions were not very good. I've never been told what it's for though. I have a friend that has a Greddy Profec B he's selling but wanted to try this first.

since your mbc is a knock off of the turbosmart in-cabin mbc, heres a link to the instructions from turbosmart.

see Part 2 for external wastegate setup.
you need to use a boost reference (not the intake manifold) to get proper boost response
