Default overboost

i did a search and i don't think this has been discussed before if it has i'm sorry i didn't find it... but anyhow.. I'm running a drag kit on my d16y8 motor. Ported & polished head, 5 angle valve job. I'm running hondata s200 management, 440cc injectors, high flow fuel pump, adjustable fuel regulator, 2.5 inch exhaust system to the turbo, straight pipe included.

Now my problem is that in second gear, third gear, and fourth the car boosts up to 10 psi and higher. I'm using the deltagate wastegate with a 7lb spring. (thats what i have so please don't say get a different one ) I turned the screw on the top all the way out until there's no more tension and i turned one full turn back so that it is right on the edge of tension. From what i know, i should be boosting minimum. But its not. 1st gear i can't hit high boost, but 2nd goes easily to 10lbs. I can't use my VTEC because when i hit around 5000RPMS the car is already at 10psi. I tried one max run but at 5500-5750 i hit 15lbs, and couldn't rev past 5500 (way too lean, about 14.3:1 a/f ratio...courtesy of motec wide band o2).

Is my wastegate hooked up wrong? I have one independant vaccum line to the side of the wastegate, and one from the top of the wastegate to the turbine vaccum outlet.

you can afford a motec, but not a tail wastegate?

you need to have the vacuum line connected to the vacuum port on the wastegate(side) only...
the way that you have it right now, the 2 ports are receiving the same vacuum/boost readings and have no way of opening the valve.
just remove the top vacuum line, leave it open and you will be all set.

i want to use the deltagate because i want to try and make it work

plus its not a Motec System, its just a wide band o2 sensor.

cheapturbo: okay thanks i will try disconnecting it and see what happens.
