over boost with greddy kit....Please HELP!!!
Well everything was going great with my install until I too k my car for a ride to find out even at half throttle my car was approaching 10 psi!!!, I tried adjusting the wastegate rod both directions a little at a time and nothing worked. Also tried a mbc to try and tune, still nuthin.. There was an awful lot of fluttering going on as well. Do I have a defective turbo or what??? Needless to say I am very dissapointed.. Any help would be great.......
wastegate line is hooked up to fuel preesure regulator vaccum line. The instructions said to hook it up to a vaccum source on the back of the intake manifold, but there are no vacc ports back there, so I hooked it up to the fpr vacc line. In fact , that is the only source of vaccum that I can see on the whole manifold. BTW, downpipe is stock greddy, and cat back is stock. Any ideas?, This is driving me nuts
, not to mention I cannot even go past half throttle with out hitting 10 psi............... Please help

If there is a port on he compressor housing hook into that or hook the wg line into the charge pipe. There should be nothing tee'd off of your fpr.
Sounds as though your wastegate is not opening.
I have my tial wg fed from my charge pipe and it works great..

I have a 1.8 non vtec, 18g turbo, no intercooler yet, and yes the kit was new. Should the intercooler drop the boost down a little?
Generally speaking there is a pressure drop when the air goes through the IC. The reason I asked if it was a new or used kit was because maybe someone messed with the wastegate or something. Does it look like the length of the "arm" has been played with at all?
Actually, I called greddy about the problem and they told me sometimes the wastegates are not adjusted right. They told me to turn the rod one full turn counterclockwise and check it out. I did and the boost dropped and held at about 8 psi. Still to high in my opinion. The kit says it is supposed to be at 5 or 6. I turned the rod again, and it still sits around 8 psi.... Getting frustrated
That's still too much boost for stock. Something's not right! When you call Greddy, ask for Kenji. He seems to be the most knowledgeable tech there.
BTW, what kind of boost gauge do you have?

I have already turned the wastegate rod 3 turns counter clockwise. I should not have had to touch it at all... The boost did go down to 8 psi, from the first turn I made with the rod, However the second two turns resulted in nothing....
Call Kenji tomorrow, and if nothing he says helps, I would choose to deal directly with the seller, rather than Greddy. Just make sure you're polite, no matter how pissed you may actually be! If it's a good dealer, they should go out of their way to help you. You shouldn't have to deal with warranty coverage considering the kit is new. Good luck!
On an LS 8 psi is fine. The springs that come w/ greddy kits are 7lbs springs, so you're just "spinning your wheels".
Calm down. You're o.k
I'm on a LS. I'm at .74 daily.
