It's called buy a beater with A/C. I personally wouldn't be able to live in Texas driving my hatch without a second vehicle.

arizona: anytime after 9:30am its 100+ degrees out, 11:30am-6:00pm were hitting 117-120 degrees in the sun. 6:00pm - later it starts to cool off but stays above 100 degrees till around 2:00am....THERES IS NOTHING US "ARIZONIANS" CAN DO! sure you run ac with your boosted setups but your sweating ***** for the first 20 minutes your in the car...not only is the heat radiating from the sun but also from all the damn cement/streets/buildings around the tempe/phoenix area.

i garage the rex till i leave for work then keep it in the shade when i get there and try not to drive again till after 7:00pm. the air itself is hot...driving @ any desired speed wont do **** but speed the hot air up, hitting your face. for the bitches? thats why i got the suburban and the auto-start and the ac on FULL BLAST!

i would try getting the car as cool as possible before and after you drive it. plus throw some ducting in get the air circulating

you could cut the a/c lines and pump ice water through it. your old stock pump that's laying around the garage should be a nice little pump and put it in a tank full of ice and water you'd be set to go. next thing of course would be tearing apart a 5000BTU window unit and fab it into the car.

it's my 3rd summer not having A/C.
Only part that really bugs me is my work clothes.
Some of my shirts a bit thick and my damn pants! UGHHH!
I usually roll up my pant legs and unbutton the top of my shirt.
and for the most part, i try to drive a little fast to get as much air circulating. lol.

Ive lived in las vegas NV,Ive lived in CA mojave desert,Ive lived in phoenix AZ.Id say the hottest place Ive lived is Arizonia.I lived there as a poor college student with no A/C and no tinted windows. The cars tires actually sink into the asfault.I dont know how I survived it.But I felt like dying when traffic stopped.Get A/C if you live somewhere hot.Remember temperatures are taken in the shade. So its alot hotter in direct sunlight.

Haha. This is a great thread.

I'm in Miami and its hotter then a ************! I got a swivel fan that has a suction mount and a cigarette lighter. But i'm looking for a swamp cooler like one guy mentioned...

I just gotta find those new style ones, cus the old VW ones just dont look right cus they're so vintage, plus they cost alot, cus they're not the most common item. But swamp cooler is the way to go for car's w/o a/c.....

I wish i lived somewhere cool, where no a/c wouldn't be such a sacrifice. If not having a/c in miami makes you hardcore, then i couldn't be more hardcore. Im 23, a businessman, a man *****...but i've been driving a gutted hatchback with no a/c for almost 4 years now..everyone thinks im nuts.

Your solution is making your DP out of wedges (whitey bend)... Thats how I did mine... Im running a full 3" DP and it clears my AC comp by about an 1/8th"...

Use a hermatic 12 or 24 volt compressor found on from frigerators and bam you got AC again.

I only get cool when it rains... no top on for me... (see avatar)

Of course, by then, it's hard to tell the sweat form the rain...

lol... moving isn't bad, it's stopped traffic that really sucks. It's like sitting under a heat lamp with heat blowing on you heating you up. The the radiator fan comes on...
