I have a Tial 46mm wastegate for my race car. i want the motor to push around 650whp...will this wastegate suffice? i have friends telling me that it won't and that i should go with an HKS 60mm. what do you guys think? anyone with experience?

I dunno really.
but I would think the HKS is better but thats only cause thats what ive seenbeing used by some big power cars.
im sure there are some guys who will know exactly.

I have the same wastegate and its more than enough to get you into the nines . Jojo used it well into the eights but I have seen on his current setup that he has the new turbontics one but that is after the methanhol changeover . If you dont mind me asking what setup are you running on your car ?-Pdang

i know for a fact it will push over 600. you should be fine.

We run a little racegate with a 42mm valve with a little over 600hp

i would use the tial 40mm over the 46. I hate the design on the 46, if you *need* bigger than a 40 (i think thats 700whp) go to a hks. The tial 46s should be redisgned to work like a giant 40.

ran turbonetics racegate over 30psi no problems... v band wastegates are a nice touch for a race engine...

v bands are nice a street engine, a bench engine, a lawnmower engine. I hope that one day i can have every thing i own that uses an engine, using a vband on some connection.
