Just make sure you adjust it properly, do it in small increments, and watch the boost gauge. You can overboost real quick while adjusting them if you do it to much at a time. I ran one for a long time and never had a problem with it. Just don't go overboard with it or you will blow her up (not knowing what internals you have done to your car)!!!

I tried to make one the other day with plans from c-speed racing (http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/mbc/mbc.php) and it didn't really work like I wanted it to..

It would boost to the amount I wanted it to, but it would also trap the pressure between the wastegate and the MBC when I shifted, which made the wastegate stick open. So, it would cause a ton of lag since the turbo wasn't getting enough exhaust gas to make it spool.

I'm probably going to work on it some more tonight to see if I can make a workaround.

I just had a manual one put in mine for the time being to get tuned. From what I understand the controller tricks the waste gate to open. So instead of the boost leaving when it opens with a spring, it slowly allows it to open causing possible boost spikes.

Just slowly adjust it and keep an eye on the gauge.
