Real simple question for those with experience. As far as boost controllers go I had my mind set on the apexi avc-r and im getting the hondata s300. The s300 has a boost control option now would it be easier to use the boost control option in the hondata s300 OR would it better for me to use the apexi avc-r. They both can boost by gear which draws me to them but im not sure what way to go....... help please thanks
if you already have s300 i think its easier and cheaper to just use that instead of having an extra unit/screen to play with. i guess the only downfall is that you need the laptop to make changes to s300 but im sure once you dial it it you wont need to make changes on the fly. also s300 basically uses the honda ecu and sensors rather than aftermarket pieces.
ive never used the avc-r but i know people that swear by it. i do use the boost by gear with s300 and have no complaints

The hondata boost by gear solenoid. simple cheap and you control it within hondata.
Im not sure how much that bost controller cost but im sure it's not as cheap as the Mac solenoid(hondata)

ECU-based FTW. S300 allows you to have 2 different settings, so you get it tuned for your max PSI, then have them set each gear's boost level for least wheel spin. Then have a higher or lower settings, for wet conditions or for slicks.
You can do that after going through hoops on the standalone, but I prefer to get it set beforehand and simply flip a switch.
