Omg is this bad
A dumptube is definately recommended.
Not having a dumptube will not cause an exhaust leak...seeing as how it is not connected to the exhaust (unless your running closed dump, which you obviously are not)

im running a tial 38mm waste gate and i bearly noticed that it had another plug for the dump tube .i bought the car with a ssac manifold so i was looking at new manifolds when i encounter this
all the dumptube does is reroute the exhaust gases that come out of the wastegate. If you dont reroute them, most likely your entire engine bay will turn black and whatever is in front of the wastegate port will melt or heat up a lot depending on what it is. Get a dumptube.
not to mention you will re burn exhaust gas, effectively making you non dump tube setup an EGR, this lowers cyl temps by introducing burnt exh into the charge, thus lowering power.

yea my bolts backed out of mine and it fell off haha looked like a chimney in my bay

How are some of you guys honestly telling this dude that he doesn't need a dumptube? Yea you don't "need" a downpipe either, but I 100% of everyone is using one. It's called the intelligent thing to do.
To the original poster: do not half *** something like this. Get a simple pipe made to fit your wastegate and route the exhaust gases away from vital parts of the engine.

A downpipe would melt stuff, regardless. I mean, I would never ever run a car with out a dump, but you really don't need one.
You don't need oil either, but you should run it.

Being the devil's advocate: no dumptube will melt things just like no downpipe would. All it would take is a long 1-5 gear pull with the wastegate pointed in the right direction.

Forced induction is the art of stuffing as much OXYGEN into the motor, using no gaseous substance other than atmosphere.
Running no dump will release 'dead' air into your engine bay, air w/o any oxygen left. It may have 1% of it left, but you still have way more soot and unburnt gasoline. That dead air will take up space in your cylinder, make you run a bit rich, and also increase IAT's. NONE of those help make power when you run them on a good tune.
