Is it okay for a motor to smoke for at most, a day, after its put back together from a rebuild?
I heard that once a motor is put back together after a rebuild it shouldn't smoke at all but some say it may smoke for a little bit and then stop afterwards.

It should depend on the builder and the excess amount of assembly lube in the various places. Like on the cylinder walls. Also if it blew up prior to rebuild it may have some oil still coming from the exhaust piping.

most likely if you had the head redone it will some due to the moly in the valve stems getting blown out. I never had one smoke from a bottom end rebuild though im sure it could be possible and everything be normal.
