Default is it ok to run a car without an 02 sensor?

heres the deal...im buying a car that was turboed for a very short time...the kit is being removed before i buy it. since the o2 sensor was in the downpipe...and it didnt have a cat...i have no place to put the o2 sensor in. is it ok to run the car without an o2 sensor for a bit? or should i try to find a stock gsr cat. (its a gsr motor in a 93 hatch). wil a stock gsr cat even fit? please any help is appreciated...im pickin the car up this coming week! and planned to drive it home...but DEF. dont want to mess anything up...im looking for a realtively CHEAP fix...because i have almost all the parts needed for my turbo set-up...and will be turboed in about a month or so anyway (without a cat).

You can but it will throw a CEL. The car will still drive but you'll get poor fuel economy.

u can drive it as long as u want, its not gonna hurt anything, there are cars that are tunned without o2 sensors, depending what ecu u are using

I ran my car for 2 months w/o an o2. Very bad gas mileage. But performance wise I didnt feel any difference.

I don't run any o2 sensors on my car. I like it taht way betetr anwaysy as it truely shows how well your tune is as it works 100% off the ecu and what not. I still get about 350-400kms to a tank.
