Can i run my car without an o2 sensor?
I got a replacement catalytic converter for my 99 ex and it doesnt have an o2 sensor hole so can i just unhook the sensor at the plug and run it until i can get a muffler shop to weld on a bolt to screw the sensor into.

the 2ndary o2 doesnt really do that much, as far as engine operation.
Yes, the car will run.
You will throw a cel..but the ecu will not go into limp mode.

The check engine light is already on cause i got a high flow cat, but it does have the o2 sensor in it. So you are saying that putting on a cat without the o2 sensor will make it idle bad?

No, the sensor in the cat will NOT make your car run bad! I've been running with the sensor out for about 5-6 months already, no problems at all.
It's just an emissions control device, not critical to engine function.
Your sensor is still on because most generic "hi-flow cats" are junk, not really doing anything at all to reduce emissions. Especially those silly chromey tubes on Ebay.

Correct. All of the other posts in this thread stating that the car will run poorly or not idle well with a missing secondary O2 sensor are completely incorrect.
