Is it OK to drive around without the intercooler on??
I recently changed my front bumper and now my intercooler is in the way. At the moment, I have my intercooler off so my front bumper can fit. My question is, if I don't boost (te/t4e turbo) and just rev normally, will this be okay to drive around until Monday (local, freeway, maybe have the ac on)? I'm just afraid of overheating or damaging anything. Let me know. thanks

is it complete circuit meaning are the intercooler pipes connected so you can boost or did you just took the pipes off and that boost just leaks out into the surroundings? if that is the case you might overspin your turbine and cause some damage to the turbo... but if you dont dog the car like take to redline or something it could be ok to drive on unitl monday...
correct me if im wrong!

The pippings arent off but not connected bc the intercooler is not there to mate all the pippings together. I asked a friend of mine and he said I should be fine if I dont boost. Anyone else have any info on this?

first off type so we can understand WTF you are saying.
Second.
You run the risk of overspinning the turbo.
Take out the spring in your wastegate, that way you won't have enough exhaust to spin the turbo.

I would run down to the parts store and get a straight piece of pipe to connecand complete the circuit of piping then drive it and dont boost much. However you can still get into a little bit of boost and it wont be a problem. At 2-3 psi of boost the turbo will not make much heat. Remember JRSC are not intercooled and some of those guys run up to 11psi with no intercooler. you wont hurt it if you dont boost it but make sure the piping circuit is complete or you will redline the turbo and be buying a new one.

thats very true you will basically redline the turbo, def just go to the parts store and get a radiator hose or anything to connect the hoses, very easy fix till you get that fix on monday.
