Default Oil Weights?

What weight is the best to run?

I just had my HG replaced and I noticed on the receipt it said 5w30, And that just seems a little thin of and oil to run with an application that creates so much heat.

Also when I had my HG replace I had my test pipe installed and now I notice some smoke at full spool followed by a burnt oil smell. I check my piping for oil and TB with no signs. I also took off the DP with no signs as well.

5w40 or 10w40 will work great on a turbo setup....

I'm currently running castrol syntec 5w50.....great oil pressure even when extremely hot......it maybe a little to thick but works well.

I just switched over to that from the Rotella synthetic 5w40, and the 15w40 definitely gives a bit more oil pressure as expected. Seems pretty stable from cold to hot too.

I was told I should run a 20w50 or straight 50w?

Also should I be using a restrictor with a AR .62?
