Default Oil too cold?

I'm getting my car ready for roadracing and installed a 19 row setrab cooler and a 5.5 qt moroso pan. My set up is a gt2871r b16 at 303 hp 10 psi

Cruising on the highway its hard to get my oil to 160F. I'm running 10w40. The wired thing is my cooler is behind my bumper but I have not cut a hole to expose the cooler yet. do you guys think maybe my temp sender is off? I do live in MN and its about 37F outside right now. But shouldn't my oil heat up to atleast 200?

Sound about right.Cruising alone will drop oil temperature let alone extra oil in a big heat sink.Wait until its 90* and you loading the hell out of the engine.

You wouldn't by chance have a pic of how your oil cooler was set up, do you?

isn't a 19row pretty huge oil cooler? i think a 13row would do just fine.

I gots a smaller oil cooler than you 12X5X2 and I don't get past about 160ish lately with the weather. Its been about 55-70F here lately.

I beat the **** out of it yesterday while driving and only got up to 187F

Most of my driving is not long though, 20-30 min trips pretty much to work and back.

Once its hot a fvck out (90+) I will see temps like 200-210 daily driving.

I will take a pic of it when I cut up my bumper for it. the reason I went with a 19 row is because of the turbo and I will be road racing.

Cool. I was curious if you went with a full oil filter relocation or a sandwich plate for the company that you used for the oil cooler.

Disregard. Found my answer. I'm using a sandwich plate as opposed to the relocation.

Perhaps you should get a thermostat to bypass the oil cooler until the oil reaches the normal operating temperature range. I've read it's just as bad for the motor to have oil temperatures that are too low as it is oil temperatures that are too high.
