I was doing a compression test yesterday and found one of my plugs was coverd in oil. The compresion test came out good. cylinders 4 3 2 1 compresion 170, 180, 170, 170
Could my ringlandings be shot and the excess oil making the seal make my compresion test seem ok?

Was their oil on the porcelain? Many times the O rings at the top of the spark plug chamber leak and fill the bottom with oil.. when you unthread the plug it covers the plug in oil...

It could also be oil leaking from the valve cover.. making its way into the plug holes.. and then coating the tips as you remove the plugs. Or it could also be bad/leaking valve seals. What motor do you have? What is your compression (ex: 9.1:0)?

I'll double check this weekend after I boost some more today and tommorow then do the compression check again. But as for as oil comming from the valve cover it maybe so, I noticed some oil in the bottom surrounding the spark plug hole to the head. My ride is a 2000 cebic Si 1.6 B16a2 9.1:1 SRP pistons with Greddy kit.
