i got an oil sandwich adapter and i put my stealthline 1/8th fitting in and it screwed in about two times, so it sticks out quite a bit. i was wondering if i need a non tapered fitting for this.....let me know, thanks

Usually the 1/8 NPT fitting that goes into the plate is non tapered/flared...just straight

Maybe you should have checked what threads were on that sandwich before you screwed in a tapered pipe thread fitting. Pipe threads usually engage 3+ threads to seal, so maybe its not tight enough. As long as it doesn't leak a bit, then its fine.
