Default Oil restrictor

Are these recommended for all Honda setups?
I haven't seen much talk about them so I figure they are optional, but they seem like a good idea.

they're recommended for bb turbos. journal bearing all you need is -3, unless you have a bw turbo, which needs -4.

if you are running a journal bearing turbo then no, you don't need a restrictor but if you are running a ball bearing turbo they recommend that anything over 40psi of oil pressure that you should run a restrictor on it.

I think you have to run oil Restrictor on any turbo because I had that problem before. For a jurnal bearing turbo you have to run .06 size and for bb .32"

And you can find them at www.atpturbo.com

Just check it out and you'll see what I mean.

x2. oil rings are only designed for about 60 psi oil pressure and we all knw hondas make over 60 psi oil pressure. with an oil restrictor on a journal bearing you will see much better spool responce and no leaking oil rings "Seals".

Many peopel get away with not running one and have no issues but many also dont run one and their seals blow out

There is no physical way that a restrictor will help with your "spool" of the turbocharger. This is simply not correct nor logical. On the Garrett journal series for HONDAs, -3AN, no restrictor (when coming from the oil sending unit) is needed. A .035" restrictor is used for DBB turbochargers from GT28R-GT35R. BW uses -4AN line from their S200 series to S400.

I've always used these restrictors for the journal bearing turbos

yes it will increase spooling of a turbo, do it and find out for your self . less oil on the rotating assembly means less drag. if your overfilling the chra with oil its harded for the shaft to spin than that with less oil. but thats not logical of physically possible right
