Oil Pumps ?
Ok, after much reading in another thread about various oil weights that are used in turbo cars, I want some opinions with hard evidence one way or another. I have personally seen 3 oil pumps (OEM) give way on high HP motors in the past month. Oil weights varied from 10w-30 to 20w-50...
Is there a stonger oil pump than stock?
Any concrete evidence that it is going to hold up at 450+hp?
I dont want a pissing war and tuner fights here, jusy good ole information!

Re: Oil Pumps ? (Silverbeast)
most oil pumps from honda are good enough
they are designed to let the pressure supposely not go over 75 psi...
theres a releif spring actuaded valve that takes care of that matter...its releifs anything over 75 psi, but when oil is cold, since its tick thats why we see close to 100 psi
i asked my local experience shop ( my buddy) and over the 26 yrs hes been racing and he has never seen a Oil pump fail...
some other people here has blow them up ( wich i consider is on hybrid motors that get over reved too much) since they are a pump, speed directly proportional part...
IMO as long as u have a good source of constant oil pressure, there shall be no problems with the motor...
and as long as u dont overrev the **** out of them, theres no point to fail
