Oil pump replacement?
Is it really that necessary to replace on a car with rebuild? Would the car need to have run a certain mileage for the need of a replacement? Thanks guys,
Nick

Re: Oil pump replacement? (boost killz)
Good question, cause I wanted to know the same thing, but If you're building for boost (you are in the FI forum), might as well just change it to be safe.
Although I've never heard of an faulty Honda oil pump (anybody?). I'm going to.

This is a set of replacement wheels. I have never heard of a housing going bad, unless of course the broken pump wheels do any damage. The difference between a ProDrive Pump and O.E. is this. An O.E. pump is made up from cintered metal. Cintered metal for those of you who don't know, is an extremely fine powdered metal that is put into a mold the shape of the pump gear. It is then pressed under extreme pressure, removed from the mold and put into an oven with a bonding agent like bronze or something that will melt, go into the pores of the material and act as a glue to hold it all together. ProDrive Oil Pumps are made from Billet Stress Proof material, and then are ground to size. Each pump is made as a set to O.E. specifications per size and tolerance. Many of todays fastest Hondas use them such as Steph Papadakis and Lisa Kubo. Let me know if there are any other questions.
