Oil Pump Failure
I have just recently installed an OEM ITR oil pump about 2 1/2 months ago and now I have no oil pressure. The car shut off while I was driving...And when I was trying to start it back up...it would crank until the 3rd try. Once it cranked up, I noticed "0" oil pressure. Someone mentioned that it maybe the thrust bearing washers. Anyone else experienced this or have an idea of what may be wrong? I don't want to go out and buy components/parts that I don't need. By the way, my turbo setup is a B18B with Integra Type R oil pump (new from Acura dealer). Thanks in advance.
WHat is the oil level on the dip stick?, also are you sure you dont have an oil leak some where. How long have you run the motor with 0 oil pressure? When did you loose oil pressure, did it happen right after you installed the new oil pump? Did you prime the pump? Provide us some more details on the situation?>

I do have oil on my dipstick. No, I don't have an oil leak anywhere. I lost oil pressure after my car shut off. Once I cranked it back (after the 3rd try), I noticed 0psi of oil pressure. I checked the nylon oil line (oil pressure gauge) and there was no oil running through it. Like I said before, I have been driving the car with the new OEM ITR oil pump for over 2 months now....of course until the other day!!!

OEM B16B crank pulley. I will remove it and check the oil pump out next weekend since I don't have time this weekend. DOwNTimE sucKs!!!!
I researched some more and still have not found a logical reason why the (was brand new) OEM ITR oil pump failed. Anyone else out there have any other suggestions? I don't want to get ProDrive gears and have them get torn up also....!!!

How would loose flywheel bolts create oil pump failure in the first place?

by slamming into the crank and creating bad thrust loads and horrible unbalanced crank harmonics. think about how your car would drive at high speeds if you left a wheel loose.

That's what my cousin said also. I am just waiting for my NEW oil pump to get here so I can slap it on. I just hope it doesn't happen again because it's a freakin hassle just to replace the damn thing!!!
