OIL PROBLEM PART ONE
About 2 weeks ago, we put a DSM turbo kit on my friends D16y7... it ran really good and made good boost.. But after 3 days, the car started smoking really bad.. and there was lots of oil in the exhaust. So fist off we thought that the seals was bad... So then we made a trip to tulsa to buy a new turbo. Then we get back home and still the same problem.. So 3 days later we buy another turbo. and the same thing happens... Lots of oil comming out of the intercooler piping and the compressor housing and the air intake on the turbo side... people kept saying that the turbo is getting to much oil but it dont think so.. the oil pressure is 80psi wide open. and at idle its at 55psi.. the return line is ok and ive checked and checked over and over.... so if anyone can help us find the problem let me know what you think...
Oh... We put the stock exhaust manifold and all the smoking stopped..

Re: OIL PROBLEM PART ONE (CRAZYHONDA)
I'm having a similar problem only I have about 70psi at idle and 95 at redline. I've been told my oil pressure relief valve is stuck so I am going to replace it this week. It smoked like all hell and filled the charge pipes with oil too. When i put my stock manifold back on it stops smoking only because its not blowing oil by the turbo. 55 psi at idle is fairly high. Mine used to be around 15-25. Maybe we're having the same problem? hmmm

turbocharges dont need much oil pressure. 65psi of oil pressure is the most a turbo should ever see. You need to get a turbo oil feed restrictor.

Re: OIL PROBLEM PART ONE (CRAZYHONDA)
Make sure you have a 3an line feeding your turbo make sure you have the turbo clocked to where your drain back flows properly. I had this same problem and it was because the oil volume was too much had a 4an and could not drain quick enough. I had a different oil feed than most. Mine was delivered directly from the oil pump. Probably wasn't a good Idea when you can get sufficent amount of oil from the block. good luck on fixing it.
