oil pressure light
i got a friend who has a ls turbo. we ran once then we came up to a light...the oil light turned on. took off from the light, then oil light turned off. whenever he comes to a stop the oil light comes on. oil was added, but the light still stays on. any ideas of whats going on? then it started knocking after the oil pressure light came on.
Sounds like you're killing the motor. There might be something stuck in the oil pickup or a passage and your engine isn't getting the oil it needs. Or the oil pump is going. Either way, it looks like your friend is on the way of having a dead motor. The oil light means turn engine off immediately. Don't **** with it.
yup.. sound like you and your friend aren't to bright.. sorry but if my oil light came on first thing i'd do is turn the motor off and coast off the road.. something is diffently wrong
haha why why why why would you ever take off from a light with that light on!!! you might have just poped his motor. nice going. anyways sound like your oil pump went. get another one and then check your compresion, and cross your fingers thats you didnt burn up a ring or two. good luck and next time when a oil light come on and the engine is making loud banging sounds, turn the motor off!

Yup, the loss in oil pressure was probably due to one of the bearings being worn or spun causing the clearances to be too loose which was the early sign of bearing issues. Then it quickly beat the bearing up and started to knock.

replace that bearing and you should be good to go.
would it be best for him to replace all the bearings?
any chance the crank may have gotten messed up?
tell him to build it for boost since its going to be apart anyway
