ok i was test running my car after some repairs, at wot my red oil light turned on the highway so i shut my engine off right away and pulled over, topped off the oil as needed and turned it on exited and it stayed on, at the stoplight i turned it off and on and it turned off. I went on the on ramp onto the highway cruising at 55mph at 3000rpm and as soon as i released the throtle and let the car slow down a little it turned on again and sayed on for a quarter mile until i pulled over and had it towed to my garage. So i noticed it was leaking some oil and it might be coming from the oil pressure sensor. Would this cause the light to come on if it is indeed leaking from there? Hopefully its this and not the rod bearing. The amount of oil leaking is around the size of a basket ball flat> hopefully its not the rod or main bearings..

The stock sensor comes on at 4psi, so I was told. By the time this thing comes on your hosed. If you had a bad bearing, you should certainly be able to hear it. You drove a good amount with the light on which concerns me. I have seen the sensors get full of crap and falsely come on. If I were in your shoes I would pull the sensor and make sure its not blocked with crap. Clean up the back of the block and then use some teflon tape or Hondabond on the threads of the sensor and put it back into the block. See if the light is still coming on. I do know that if the wire comes off or has a break in it, the light will go OFF by default, not on. So that rules out a wiring/connection problem. You really need to figure this out though before you drive this car anymore. If not then you could be looking into some very costly repairs that will only compound over time.

i still havnt taken the time to jack it up and take a better look but i will, i felt around the sensor and it feels like its really leaking from there

turned out it was a cracked sleeve was one of the bigger problems...
