Default Oil pan problems

Hello,

First off this is on my GSR motor with a GT30r turbo.

After removing the oil pan to have a bung welded into it I have had a leak. I figured I could have messed up putting the gasket back on properly. So I just replaced a brand new gasket onto the oil pan. Still leaks. So a few questions.

1) What kind of sealant do you use on your oil pan gaskets? I used silicone. Could the silicone somehow be causing the gasket not to seal properly?

2) Is there any chance that it's building up really high pressure when boosting? And this could somehow be causing it to have a higher oil pressure?

This is my first turbo setup. I hope I just installed the gasket improperly and it's not anything else causing this.

No I'm pretty sure the oil pan is not warped. I probably just didn't install it properly so it didn't seal right. I'm new to all of this. Can you give me some tips to make a proper seal? And should I be using silicone to seal or something else? Or just using the gasket and no sealant?

I always, always, always. Used Grey rtv on the pan and on the block. Now I know some peeps are gona say dont use......bla bla bla sealant. But the fact of the the mater is that I have tried 2 different oil pans, 3 different gaskets, and with and without sealant, and they all leaked if I didn't use sealant. So there is my answer.

How much is the oil pan leaking?

If it's not much of a leak, then like others have said, using a sealant like honda-bond or gray rtv will probably fix it.

If it's leaking a lot i would check to make sure there aren't any of the metal "washers" stuck on the studs from the previous gasket. If those aren't removed, they will cause a pretty decent leak from the oil pan gasket.

They thanks for the tips everyone. I will double check for those washers. It was leaking a fair amount. I want a car with no leaks. I will try again. Just got a new gasket. I will let you guys know how it went. Thanks for the tips everyone.

around the rear and front main seals you will need to silicone i remember my z6 leaking because i cleaned off the old silicone and didnt use silicone so it leaked.. So dont change your gasket but will have to use silicone.. And also check your oil pump seal that might be bad to.. Where is the leak coming from..
