Strange... I'd just clean it well and JB weld it. But that's a ghetto fix...

I've had this for years since I swapped out the bottom end. It sucks, doesn't it?

any particular jb weld I should get? Id rather it be stopped from leaking and look ghetto than look ghetto full of oil.......sometimes when I run it lil hard, when i come to a stop light or something youll see smoke coming from the bottom. Me no like...............

Just get standard, or maybe INDUSTRO JB WELD. They recommend standard to weld crack blocks and aluminum. We welded my evo's tranny that was cracked in a crash with standard JB. Its held up fine. It works up to 500 degrees so you'll be fine on the block. Just clean it well and take your time, it wont look that ghetto. Plus it's hard to see that part of the block with a turbo and manifold in front of it. Id much rather JB weld it than run around leaking oil...

When you clean it, use a torch to heat up the area to bring the oil out, then flush it away with a solvent like acetone, blow dry with compressed air. I would repeat this at least 3-4 times and also try to take a pick and roughen up the area where the two parts meet to help the epoxy grab the surface.

I would pull the pan, tap the dipstick out, clean everything up very well, put some liquid gasket on the dipstick and tap it back in, voila!!

ive got this problem too and it pisses me off. i always hope i dont fail tech when they see oil on my motor...

ive tried liquid gasket and it didnt really work.

i used regular jb weld and it worked out better, but i still have some leaking. i wonder if you put and o ring between the block and the little flat flange on the bottom of the dipstick holder and press it on there real good it might fix itself... good luck!

Ok, another question....I put about have the tube of jb weld on it yesterday around 3pm. Haven't messed with it cuz the package says to let it sit for 15hrs to cure. I don't need to use my car till tomorow(longer den another 15hrs) should I put another coat of the jb weld on top of the 1???

food for thought. you can just run with out any oil in the car.. wont leak anymore.

clean it all off and JB weld is prob best bet.
