Default oil in intake manifold

i have a freshly built gsr motor that is losing oil like crazy. blue smoke out of exhaust only on accel. i checked the charge pipes and down pipe and both are dry. oil return is not kinked at all. i pulled the intake manifold and i found oil all over the place. i dont have a catch can set up, just a breather filter attached off the valve cover. sounds like some type of vaccum problem to me (i didnt even think oil could get in there in the first place). any idea what would cause this, and would a catch can solve the problem?
