OIL FEED which is better? Sandwich/ Oil Send Unit
Running Stock/gsr. at 6-10 lbs boost. which is acutually a better oil source for the turbo. is the oil running from the sandwich cleaner ? or is the oil from the oil send unit more sufficient/efficient ? Opinons and help appreciated.

another place i tought of using was putting a T on the VTEC oil press switch
its higher and easier to get, and sees also enought pressure..
and i have seen it done before and doesnt cause enought oil press drop at all to affect vtec

Re: OIL FEED which is better? Sandwich/ Oil Send Unit (BoostedVtecGsr)
good question.. Im going to have a ls/vtec setup and going to have 2 oil lines and a electric oil pressure gauge. I was going to get the sandwhich and run my turbo feed and ls/vtec line off that and put the oil pressure gauge were the stock sending unit is. That shoould work.

I'm running a mcmaster vaccum log set up that works very well from what I've seen. I'm running a -6an line into the manifold and running -3an lines with the oil pressure sending unit as well.

Wow can anyone comment on this, on most of the setups I do I uberdata we disable the VTEC Pressure switch because when converting to OBD-1 it's more un-necessary wiring to run. Does the area of the VTEC Pressuer switch get enough pressure and is there any easy way to tap into it?
If it was a choice between getting oil from a sandwich adapter or from the oil pressure sending unit in back I would definitly have to say the back of the block. If you search for people who have dealt with sandwich units they have problems with leaking. If you need to run multiple devices off the sending unit pick up the tuner toys adapter to solve all your needs:

you want clean oil..... alot of failer to the turbo is casued by debris in the center section... also many people strip or break the fitting for the back of the block the sanwich is much easier to work with

Agreed.
If you ARE going to put a fitting into the back of the block remember its NOT NPT!!!!!
The threads are actually BSPT which is the metric equivalent to taper pipe threads (NPT) and although they are close (1 TPI i believe), it will cause you problems as camp1320 mentioned.
also if you are running a T, remember that you will NOT want to mount the t directly onto a fitting "stack up" in the block as the weight of all the fittings will create a lever arm on the 1/4" fitting into the block thereby causing it to fatigue under heavy vibration. Instead you'll want to run a hose away from the block to the T, then take your oil to the turbo, vtec solenoid, oil pressure switch, oil pressure sender, or whatever you may have.
In the end, the sandwich may be a little more straight forward
