Oil coolers. Which one?
I'm looking to get an oil cooler for my turbo z6. I plan on using my dd as a track car in the near future and want to ensure the safety of my motor. What set ups are all of you in ht land using. Discuss.
Thanks.
Thanks.

if you live in a cold climate you'll want one with a thermostat, i got the mfactory kit, sponsor here on h-t, no thermostat, but its linked into a relocation system, which was really the goal for me

I don't drive my car in the winter so climate is not an issue. Also I'd like to keep my oil filter located on the block as room is an issue. I gussing I'd have to use a sandwich adapter and route the lines to the cooler and back. Also which cars came stock with oil coolers? Maybe I can score something from the junkyard.
thx.
thx.

I use a Setrab 125-10 and it's not enough to keep the oil temps below 120 deg C, even after a short period of running hard on a NA motor.
I recommend using a 634-10 or -12 for starters.
A dedicated fan and ducting are also recommended since the intercooler will block most of the air flow through the air dam.

I run the B&M kit with oil cooler and relocation kit on my Turbo D16z6, it's a relatively great kit to use since it come with both adapter plate, plenty of hose to get from the back of your block to the oil cooler and to the relocalisation filter kit.
for the money, it's a great kit, it's not a full quality all billet part's kit though.
but it does the job fine for me... I keep 75 PSI oil press at 18 Deg Celcius outside temps on normal driving condition with 10-50w syntec in my car.
Chow !
