Default oil coolers

Who uses them? are they necessary? thermostatic or regular? which sandwich plate to accommodate oil feed line?
ideally, i would love to have it with thermostatic sandwich plate with 10AN feed lines and two 1/8NPT fittings for turbo feed line and a sensor ON the sandwich plate. cannot find one with all those features.

great advise, as usual. however, i'd rather not introduce another part into all this (the thermostat), can i drill the adapter plate for the feed line?

Nope. As I stated in the other thread, you can't do that to the Mocal version. For the GE version, you must use an external oil thermostat to work with possibly the GE sandwich. Or use the "old school" way of creating LS VTEC like we did in 2000. But both LS/VTEC & Oil cooler can be tough... if you have a VTEC engine, use the standard Mocal design. don't try to get cute with it.

looks like there is no way around it. with this and an accumulator, this is going to drain me dry!

that's easy. Use the oil pressure sending unit for the oil feed, like any other turbo Honda. then use the standard Mocal oil sandwich plate with internal thermostat, about 10' of -10AN line, the correct fittings and an Earl's oil cooler. As in the link I showed you, the Mocal links are all under my posts.

i have been under the impression that the stock sensor location is dodgy for an oil feed line.

That's standard to use that oil pressure sending unit. We did it on the first LS/VTECs in 1998, and is the standard location for oil feed on most turbocharged Hondas. Don't know where you got that impression, but rest assured, its a standard location to feed the correct amount of oil through a -3AN or even -4AN line.

This....Its why i dont use one. I want to maintain the GE adapter cause of the 6 AN feed for the head. And i use the second port for Turbo feed. There is no way to get a 10-an feed and return for a oil cooler on that adapater. Even if using a external Thermostat you still need the 2 10-an lines for the cooler feed and return. If you cant stack them your really left optionless, Unless getting rid of the GE plate all together.

Like metioned above tho your Non vtec so its a no brainer
