Oh screw me....literally. :(
Found out the cause of the clanking noise my engine was making. Took off the flywheel inspection plate and look what fell out.
Guess what, its a ****** pressure plate bolt. Fixing this means tranny has to come off.....I HATE removing and installing trannies too!!!
Can I drive for a while missing one??!!

Hey don't worry. I've tightened pressure plate bolts by removing the starter and with a little skill you can tighten all the bolts. Putting a bolt in is something I have never done. But, should work though.

Oh, I thought about looking there because the noise seemed to be coming from my tranny area. I thought the starter was hanging up on the flywheel or something.

Im sorry man, i like triple checked the torque on those bolts when i changed out my clutch and resurfaced my flywheel...how long has it been since you changed out your clutch? in other words, did the bolt come loose right away, or has it been awhile? makes me nervous still that could happen to me. Good luck getting it back in

I installed a clutchnet stage 2 clutch about 2 months ago. I thought I had them torqued properly but I guess not.

I torqued mine to according to the helms and they backed out on me. I had to drop the tranny to figure this out. I used some threadlocker and 5 more ftlbs and no probs yet kind of (through out bearingis squealing, but thats unrelated). Accordking is right on about tightening them up through the starter hole-it's way easier than the alternative.

I ordered a new ICM and the pressure plate bolts today. I will probably replace the missing bolt this weekend.
