integra gsr 99, greddy bolt on turbo kit with type 31 intercooler added, 440 rc injectors, boosted 8 psi, type s bov, comptech catback exhaust, stock cat, chipped p28 w/ crome

214.13 hp, 165.44

I'm not sure on why it is so low, shouldn't I be making about 235 hp according to Greddy. Can it be that the tune was tuned conservatively??

custom 2.5" DP(after the elbow) mated to custom 3" piping w/ 18" resontator into a 3" Apex N1 muffler. Tuned on Crome by Church.

In a full interior(including a Bazooka tube) DC2 I ran 13.6 @10x mph with a spun bearing and a smoking turbo. I did this at California Speedway while spinning 1st and 2nd on 22" MT's.

Now the car is back in the shop for a full build on the greddy kit. Hoping to hit the 400hp mark with the greddy kit. Will be back to update on the new setup.

P.S. Car is at L's Motoworks. For builds or inquiries, i highly suggest them. Also, those of you running the custom 3" DP on this kit, pls. pm me. I will get pics and vids of my setup posted ASAP.

And do you guys think I have to go with a bigger chargepipe setup than the greddy chargepipe to hit he 400hp mark?

Anyone have any suggestions about the chargepipes or have pics of their 3" DP setup?

Anyone have an answer to my question??? I would like to know if the greddy chargepipes would be good enough for my goal, which is to hit the 400hp mark on the greddy kit? or will i have to go bigger? i'm already on a big spearco ic. i just need to know if the chargepipes are big enough.

I can't believe I missed this thread.

Here is my setup:

Stock GSR motor
CTR cams
18G kit with 31V intercooler
GE headstuds
Skunk2 cam gears
Crome Pro self-tuned
2.5" downpipe to 2.5" carsound cat (still using the Greddy POS elbow)
Dynoed with a Greddy Evo2 exhaust, now running a 3" Redshiftmotorsports LCA exhaust

I made 262/204 at 11 psi with a huge hole in the dyno graph. We were having ignition problems but I am still satisfied with the numbers because I know they are higher.

I am probably going to upgrade the turbo and build the engine in the near future and shoot for 400 whp / 350 whp daily driven.

ps since this turbo I have no come to relize how important good wheels, tires, and especially brakes and suspension. My 4 door is completly stock except for the swap, the turbo, and the twisties. Time to change that.

it seems that the new greddy kits are not making as much power as it used to be.

Here is my setup:
93 EG
Stock JDM GSR motor
18G kit with 31V intercooler
Megan test pipe
Hondata s300
Greddy 2" downpipe to 2.25" Apex'i WS2
310CC injectors
Blitz SBC id3
Greddy Type S BOV
wahlbro 255lph fuel pump
so on a dynapack only made 202hp/183lbs at 10psi

stock boost at 7-8psi made 182.9hp/178.4.

must be the high compression holding me back but another similar setup tuned at Blacktrax made 220hp.

high compression will not hold you back...at that boost level. And a GSR only has a CR of 10:1 compared to a B16A which has 10.2:1. try upgrading to 440's so your injector duty will be lower. There maybe something else like a boost leak holding you back. I was making #'s like that with internal wastegate on a B16A. Something is wrong in your setup.

Do you have a dyno sheet? There is something very wrong if you only made 202 at 10 psi on a dynapack.

gsargh. 191 / 168 @ 4 psi. lol'd?
dsm 450s, 2.5>3in dp, hondata s200, 255 fuel pump, stock fuel rail, stock internals, greddy evo2 exhaust, greddy manual boost controller, 2.5 in intake. . .

internal wastegate ftl. going with a blox turbo mani and external WG setup soon. like, tomorrow soon. and i gotta get it retuned to make 300whp on stock internals.

Here's my dyno. JDM motor has 10.6 CR.. so dunno

http://www.flickr.com/photos/tonyttran/1382588034/
i put 440s in and added 3" Exhaust E-cutout, boosted up to 10psi and hit 239hp and 225lbs but the motor gave out and blew all four pistons by cracking the ringlands.

oh wellz... rebuild it is with forged pistons and rods and arp bolts.

[update]
with rebuilt motor with Wiseco 9.5:1 pistons and Eagle Rods with AEBS head studs.

made 250whp / 215lbs with open e-cutout.

Let's keep this thread alive. Greddy FTW!!!Just installed mine couple weeks back. For my EJ1 B18C swap. Running 12 Psi daily for now. Will keep you guys posted within the next 2-3 weeks with wideband tuning and then dyno.

My setup:

Stock B16A2
Greddy 18G kit
Greddy Type-S BOV
NGK BKR7E's gapped @ .032
Treadstone FMIC w/ Greddy IC piping
PCV valve eliminated, crankcase venting routed to Greddy catch can
RC 440's
PLX M-300 Wideband
Hallman Pro RX Boost Controller
Resonated test pipe
Apexi WS catback
Chipped P28
Uberdata

Dyno runs were made on a Mustang Dyno (typically reads 8%-10% lower than an Dynojet)

I dynoed 177whp and 124lbft on “stock” Greddy boost, and 185whp and 134lbft on 7psi.

Take a look at my boost plot, stock boost only peaked at 4.9psi (Not 5.5psi as what is considered the stock boost level) and tapered to 4.3psi. So that 177whp was made at 4.3psi.

The 7psi run tapered to 5.6psi by redline. So again, peak horsepower was made at only 5.6psi.

This taper is caused by the flow restriction associated with the elbow and downpipe. The 2.25” test pipe and 60mm exhaust is better than the stock cat and stock exhaust, but not by a huge margin. Once I port out the elbow and go with a 2.5” downpipe and 70mm exhaust, it should hold boost throughout the rev range and make much better power.

My guess is that others are experiencing this and not really realizing it. I know that was the case with myself. I thought it was holding boost, but you can’t keep a close eye on the boost gauge and the road at the same time.

anyone running a different manifold with the greddy 18g? I have a xs engineering manifold and the rest of the turbo kit and wanted to run the 18g on it. I am not sure though if i will have rubbing issues wit the the greddy turbo manifold angled in the way it is. The engineering kit is also made to use a T25/28 turbo so it will bolt, just don't know if it will rub. I have the greddy manifold, turbo and elbow, a full xs engineering turbo kit minus the turbo.
