Default Oem half size rad enough?

my search isnt working so sorry if this is covered...im running a stock sleeve 81.5 b16a2 pistons rods, built head boosted, and just wonder if an eg oem half size will be enough cooling with a good slim fan for my setup...

i had an ls with a leaking headgasket before and had heating problems, and this setup wont allow for a full size...

thanks

i never had any problems with my boosted setup and stock radiator(until it started leaking), but every setup is different. unless you have an aftermarket water temp gauge your not going to no really until the car gets on the dyno.

No the head gasket was fine, the plastic end tanks or whatever had a small leak from where they connected to the actual aluminum on the rad. i wanted to upgrade anyways so it was a nice excuse. Your really not going to need a slim line either unless you want some more room in the bay. But its nice for that extra cooling factor that a slim fan produces. you can get them on here for like $60 i believe.

We use them on all our boosted cars, our aluminum ones are the same cores as fluidyne.

ehhh, im pretty sure the stock fan will out flow most slim fans of the same size, my spal 5-blade is the highest flowing fan spal offers in any size and its design is almost just like stock, its about 3.7" thick, 11" flows 1390cfm.

i dont believe this BS that these 2" thick slim fans being sold here on HT flow the claimed 1500cfm, if spal cant make a 2" thick slim 12" fan flow that much what makes you think china can?

the only spal fan that flows over 1500 cfm in a 12" size is the 5-blade and its 3.7" thick.

insdeed, and note that the 12" unit that flows over 1500cfm is 3.75" thick which adds to my point that there is no way that these hondatech 2" thick slimfans are flowing anywhere near 1500, i'd guess below 1000...

if spal cant to it and permacool cant do it, there is no way china can...
