odd smoking issue
The car started to do this today, if its a cold start (about 30-40F here) It will smoke thick white smoke, its not normal cold start smoke, much thicker.
Then once it warms up or even during warm up i can blip the throttle and it dumps blue smoke out. When driving its not a lot of smoke if any, but if im in 3rd gear on the highway run it up to 6grand and let it decel it starts to smoke a little. Once i roll back onto the throttle it puffs out fast.
I havent done a comp test yet, the car is an absolute ape, 18psi spins 3rd gear. Im jsut not sure where to look, i saw some residual build up on a few of the intake valve stems when i had the intake mani off working on it, but didnt pay too much mind. From your past experiences what have you seen? Valve stem seals, turbo seals (gt series, gt3076r, less then 5k miles on the CHRA) or rings? I have been spinning it to 7500+ daily (no more then 8200 but ive been rather hard on it lately)

Re: odd smoking issue (EdsGTI)
sounds to me like you have a turbo problem. my car was doing the same thing just before the seals blew out completely and i started loosing hellacious amounts of oil. check the exhaust side of the turbo outlet and look for oil buildup. good luck

hopefully its uphill from the turbo to the pan, those work the best keeps the turbo nice and lubricated
