Default OBD TURBOING HELP PLZ!!!

I have a 98 ek coupe which obviously came with and obd2 ecu Which Im fine with the probelms comes when i look into turbong, tuning etc I would Like to keep my same OBD and Swap and Engine With the Same OBD which of course simplifies things. However I do want to turbo and have upgrades and what im reading thru research is that the obd2 is unchippable and harder to tune.Ive seen alot of ppl suggesting AEM EMS if I do decide to stay OBD2 Has anyone done this? and could someone plz give some light on this as i am a Noob and really started reading all this stuff today i dont understand why is OBD 2 so difficult to work with?????????

You should post this in the Forced Induction forum.

Get a p28 (OBD1) and a step-down harness.

There are Harness adapters that can easily convert to OBD1 from Pherable.net and rywire. You would then keep your original OBD2 harness and run an OBD1 based ECU system. OR, you can Use Hondata that has the OBD2 plug in harness already integrated into the ECU. Most expensive possibility is to use AEM EMS

OBD2 can be chipped/tuned but it's not going to be cheap. It would be cheaper and easier to convert to obd1 and find a tuner. Its really not hard to do

Get an OB2 to OBD1 harness and a P72 or P28 ecu like everyone else is saying. I did it for my B16A swap and it works like a charm.

As everyone is suggesting, simply install an OBD2A to OBD1 jumper harness and a chipped OBD1 ECU. Tuning options are much easier this way and will perform much better than anything you will do with OBD2.

If you are concerned with installing a jumper harness and having extra wires, etc.. We offer the OBD2 Hondata P28 with S300 system installed. This is basically an OBD1 P28 ECU that has a built in OBD2 style connector which eliminates the need for a jumper harness:

There is nothing involved past getting an OBD1 ECU and plugging up the harness. So it is literally plug and play. There is no messing about with the electrical system.
