Noob Question :) K20 NA or LS turbo
I use to own an Eg6 back in the days. Did the whole SIR swap and all... then I sold it and got an 04 WRX.. Now, I am back. I picked up an EK hatch and was wondering.. if I should go with a K20, or an LS swap with Turbo..
I feel that the LS swap with a good size turbo could yeild some very impressive numbers. Actually more bang for the buck. What kind of numbers could I be looking to get with an LS swap with stock internals and a T3/T4 hybrid turbo.....
I don't know where to start... Good info would be appreciated.
I would be running an LS tranny too, hence to give the turbo more time to spool up with the longer gears.

check out this web site:
http://www.evans-tuning.com/viewforum.php?f=5
It will give you an idea of what kind of power different set-ups are making. And an ls tranny is not better for boost, it is a myth and has been covered many times on this site just search, I don't want to start another awful tranny and boost debate.

i go with the LS turbo. WAY more bang for your buck. The motor itself you could get for a mere 700 bucks, just a little more than a d-series. seriously, are you gonna put 4-5 grands on a k-series? for that much, you could get a complete LS swap, complete turbo, and possibly even get it tuned.
if you want cheap power,IMO, get the LS turbo.
fyi, my buddy is running a gray ek hatch with LS turbo. he's tuned on the greddy blue box running 15psi on stock internals. pulls hard as ****. Got another buddy running a stock RSX type S and my buddy with the ek always pulls him a good 3-4 cars.still got to see how fast he's running the 1/4.

best bang for the buck is LS/Vtec IMO.
The blocks can be had for dirt. And the heads you can pick up cheap if you look around. You get the good TQ of the LS bottom and the price of the LS and the Hi revs and flow of the vtec head.
Oh yea , some sort of vtec tranny too.
Honestly I wouldnt do it any other way if on a budget
