I've got a weldon scavenge pump in stock if you need one, that should definitely solve the problem.

won't the fitting then be too low and the oil will still back up?

What size is the feed line(top)? The return line looks fine, you are a little vague as to where its coming from, is it definatly the bottom of the turbo? It could possibly be that the top line is too big/small...... give me some more specs on the lines, and where exactly the oil is bruning from</TD></TR></TABLE>

The specs on the feed is above. -3 and -8 return. I solved the prob.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Blown90hatcH &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I contacted moroso before I started this thing and they said it will hold 5 quarts and be under the oil return fittings. Stupid fools. The pan will only hold 4.1 quarts before it reaches the oil return fitting. Hopefully that solves the problem.

Thanks alot for all your help!!

Uhh, he said "hopefully" that solves the problem. He never said "problem solved".

Some people take things literally, and to me the previous statement doesn't verify the problem has stopped as well.

I saw this, and I saw what he posted what moroso said but I just wanted to make sure. I had the same problem, and I wanted to make sure I didn't get the same problem in the future.

For some reason I trusted moroso. They said yes....5 quarts is under the oil return fitting. I was only able to get 4.1 quarts before it reached the oil return fitting.

Moroso parts for imports are boo. I stated this a while back and got flamed for it.
I had to dump my Moroso oil pan, I bought a Moroso control arm and while I was drag racing it broke at the weld seam nearly causing me to crash and finally their traction kit couldnt fir on my EK. A few of their v8 parts are good but IMO they rushed into the import scene smelling money and making BS race parts that I wouldnt use in my girlfrined's beater.

also, you should run a restrictor on you oil feed line.take the fitting going in the turbo ,weld it up and drill a small hole in the fitting to restrict the flow to the turbo.alot of people use a 4an line for the feed and you do not need that much.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Hmm.. Look, there's the answer to the problem a page and a half ago... Looks like the answer got buried by all of the bs all of the bench racers think they need to throw in

Actual it is these bench racers that have helped and will continue to help people. Tons of people read these threads and solve their own problems by using troubleshooting ideas from everyone. I assumed the pan was cool because moroso said so. That is why I asked for more input.

Was that 4.1 quarts on an empty/rebuilt engine or was that after an oil change?

Thanks
Ben

Welll....here is how it went. I had 5 quarts into it total. I drained it out and measured it and that is what I came up with after all was said and done. So 4 quarts +- alittle.

Blown90Hatch,
Sorry I didnt allaborate on what I said. Just get a stock pan and get it tapped where you want to position the return to the best ability you can. Motormatrix is right, when using fittings you are not really getting a true -10 return into your pan. I hate moroso, because all their pan does is look pretty. My friend had one long time and all it did is give him trouble after spending money on a oil pickup, studs, new gaskets, hondabond, etc. Finally he gave up and put a stock pan on his 500 hp daily driven car. His turbo also sits relatively low but he just has a -10 line going straight from the turbo into the pan. Its worth selling that moroso and going stock, the last thing you want is a blown turbo on your hands over a pos moroso pan.

Evil, yeah I was pretty pissed about the whole pan issue. I bought the pan thinking lighter weight, more oil capacity and a fitting already welded on. It seems to be working right now so we will see. I dyno the car today on pump gas.
