No ground wire to engine, problems arise?
I recently had my engine rebuilt, and in teh mix, we forgot to get a ground wire (teh one from the front of the head to the front bumper).
I hadn't noticed until recently that it was missing. And I've been having problems w/ the idle. Didn't know if this could be the cause, or at least part of it. Maybe you guys can give me some direction.
As stated, I don't have the ground wire, keep that in mind. On cold start ups the engine will start, and idle fairly high as expected. However, after idling like such for say 2 or 3 minutes, the engine will just die. And if I turn the headlights on right after start up, it will die immediately.
And lastly, if I get it into any boost before it's operating temprature, the car will pretty much instantly die after I let out of it.
Would all 3 of these problems be related to or an issue b/c of no ground wire? Or am I way off base?
Thanks for any help, as I've been trying to figure this out for a good month or so now.

id say that could be a "part" of your problem. many of the sensors, use the engine as a ground. and if your engine/trans isnt properly grounded, it will "throw off" your sensors.. id think if that was your problem, you would be getting all kinds of engine codes/cel's.

not only is it bad not to have A ground...but you should really upgrade the factory grounds.
I have 3 going to my engine. and don't forget to sand all contact points

by upgrade you mean thicker coils? ...and can you tell a pretty big difference having three, b/c if its an improvement I'm all about it.
